Shallots equal perfection. - Kneads, Westport. It’s great when a bacon and egg sandwich can bring people together. I had just finished what might be the best bacon and egg I’ve ever had, when I noticed a father and son whom both had the same sandwich. The father and I agreed. What a sandwich! We went back and forth, espousing the characteristics that made the sandwich so great: shallots, croissant, perfectly cooked egg, the endive! A delectable ribeye served with an excellent sauce. - Il Pellicano, Fairfield. This ribeye tonight had perfect balance of meat and fat for flavor. If you’re like us, then you want enough for flavor, but you don’t want it to ruin the meat. It’s served with delicately charred cauliflower and something new in our books a romesco/chimichurri sauce. Really, you recommend the cheese empanada? - Rincon Taqueria, Norwalk. We would never think to order the cheese empanada, so when it was recommended, we couldn’t say no. Well, it was delicious. Later on another customer ordered the cheese empanada and we discussed its virtues. The rich flavor, great texture, and somehow light and not heavy like many cheeses can be. Any day can be Thanksgiving with this pork chop. - Olio, Stamford. The staff from the busser to the server are very proud of their pork chop and for good reason. 20 years later, this sauce is still amazing. - Chef Prasad, New Canaan. We’re not sure what it is, but Chef Prasad does something just a little bit different with his chicken tikka masala.
